Worship at Atonement
Worship, centered in the Word and Sacraments,
strengthens and renews the gathered assembly as we
proclaim God’s saving Gospel of salvation by grace
alone. We celebrate Holy Communion at each worship
service (except Good Friday). We follow the basic
Lutheran liturgical format, incorporating a variety
of music styles and exercising format options to
enhance worship themes and liturgical seasons. Our
worship and music liturgies, hymns and songs are
chosen and woven together from a variety of
resources including:
- Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW):
- Traditional settings previously
contained in Lutheran Book of Worship
- Bread of Life liturgy
- Gospel style (setting 6)
- Chorale style (setting 10)
- Contemporary style (setting 8)
- Hymns and songs: new and traditional,
familiar and global
- Now the Feast and Celebration liturgy
by Marty Haugen
- Dakota Road Music: Chosen People
liturgy and other worship songs
written by Larry Olson, Hans Peterson and David
Lee Brown
- Additional worship music from bible camp and
other Christian music sources
Accompaniment for worship may include: organ,
piano, percussion, strings, guitars, brass,
woodwinds.
We welcome and encourage musicians of all ages to
participate in worship leadership and be part of the
