Sunday School

Our Board of Education has implemented a new curriculum this year using a creative hands-on leaming approach.  We are continuing with rotational Sunday school classes; this helps the students to learn the bible stories using several different options.  We will be using arts/crafts, science/nature, drama, music, storytelling, and games to help retell the stories so the kids might better understand the lessons God is teaching us through different Bible stories.  Preschool students will be following the same themes as K-5th graders but will not rotate teachers every Sunday.  Opening music takes place together for Preschool through 5th grade in the large meeting room off the educational wing downstairs; using simple songs and actions the kids get moving and singing to praise God together.  Opening worship is 15 minutes in length .  The students then move to their classrooms and spend the remaining time of the educational hour there.  This year we are encouraging fellowship with the older members of the congregation by doing Sunday school activities in the fellowship hall on fellowship Sundays (the first Sunday of each month).  The kids will enjoy fellowship hour with the adults and often have a “job" to do during fellowship hour that will help our children to get to know members of the congregation better.
